North Bay is a city in Northeastern Ontario, Canada with a population of 63,424. It is the seat of Nipissing District, and takes its name from its position on the shore of Lake Nipissing.
The site of North Bay was on the main canoe route west from Montreal, and Apart from First Nations tribes, voyageurs and surveyors, there was little activity in the Lake Nipissing area until the arrival of the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1882.
North Bay is a community of energetic people - featuring many festivals, attractions and a wide range of special events. The combination of natural elements - forests, water and clean air - creates a healthy environment for working, living and raising a family.
